The Cisco ASR1001 Aggregation Services Router is build with forwarding planes and fully separated control that offer service software upgrades as well as hardware and software redundancy. The Cisco ASR 1001 supports software redundancy, and it is featured with a dual-core 2.2GHz processor with 8GB flash memory, 1GB RAM, 1 SPA bay, SPA interface processor 10 (SIP10). By default, the Cisco ASR1001 Router comes with 4 GB of DRAM and needs an upgrade to 8 GB memory to implement software redundancy. It delivers multiple services embedded in the Cisco QuantumFlow Processor (QFP) at wire speeds of 200 Gbps. The services supported on the Cisco QFP include security services, Application Visibility and Control, broadband aggregation, quality of service (QoS), Performance Routing, and Cisco Unified Border Element (SP and Enterprise Edition).
